The research shows that fertilizer companies primarily respond to regulations like the European Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive rather than taking proactive steps. Concerns over liability and competitive disadvantage further slow progress. However, embracing transparency not only ensures compliance but also strengthens stakeholder trust and provides a competitive edge in sustainability-driven markets.
