Revista Latinoamericana de Trabajo y Trabajadores is a scholarly journal dedicated to the history of labour in Latin America. It adopts a long-term perspective (16th–21st centuries) to bridge divides between studies of industrial wage workers and those of slavery and other forms of coerced labour. The journal examines varied socio-economic systems, the non-evolutionary continuum of coactive labour—including informal and popular activities—and highlights that labour precariousness has deep historical roots. It also analyses protests and conflicts, including forms of struggle that predate unions, presenting Latin American labour as a complex, border-crossing mosaic over six centuries. The journal is published twice a year and uses a double-blind external peer-review system.
