About Us
Openjournals is a platform and support team. It enables scientific journals to publish diamond open access. Open Science is an important theme in the scientific community and open access publishing is key to that.
Openjournals manages a publishing platform developed with open-source OJS software from PKP. Openjournals creates websites and provides training to editors. The website offers tools to editors to run the peer-review process and publish articles themselves. We also assist journals in archiving and making published work findable. We advise and connect editors.
Openjournals is financed through grants from NWO, support from various organizations, and financial contributions from participating journals. Openjournals is based at the KNAW Humanities Cluster. Openjournals regularly consults with national organisations in the field of science and research.
Openjournals is part of a broad European movement developing and managing national open-access publishing infrastructure. The aim is to ensure that the scientific community can take control of the publication process.
Editors or publishing organisations interested in learning more about the services and opportunities offered by Openjournals should contact Jan Willem Wijnen (janwillem.wijnen@huygens.knaw.nl).
