Early Modern Low Countries (EMLC)

Welcome to Early Modern Low Countries (EMLC), a multidisciplinary open access journal dedicated to the study of the early modern Low Countries. We publish state-of-the-art scholarship on any aspect of the turbulent history and vibrant culture of the region from about 1500 to 1830 from a variety of perspectives. EMLC appears in two installments annually.

EMLC has its origins in a cooperation between two leading journals on the Low Countries, De Zeventiende Eeuw and De Achttiende Eeuw. Please visit the most recent issues of DZE here; the remainder of the archive can be found here. The archive of DAE can be found here.
